The Cen­tral Coast Marine Dis­cov­ery Cen­tre (CCMDC) opened its doors to the pub­lic on Box­ing Day, 26 Decem­ber, 2009. After months of work from vol­un­teers and sup­port­ing organ­i­sa­tions, the CCMDC is ready for visitors.

Fea­tures of CCMDC include:

  • Dis­plays of local marine life, envi­ron­ments and history
  • “Touch pool” where you can meet the rock pool residents
  • “Sea Star The­atre” audio-visual programme
  • Kids activ­i­ties — includ­ing story time in the Lit­tle Fishes Read­ing Room, Junior Marine Sci­en­tist quiz, plas­ter craft.… and lots more
  • Dive Wreck Room sim­u­lat­ing the under­wa­ter feel of the ex-HMAS Ade­laide (to be sunk as an arti­fi­cial reef)
  • Tourist infor­ma­tion and bookishop
  • Lagoon cafe for tea, cof­fee, ice-creams and drinks

Come in for a visit — 10am-4pm daily through Jan­u­ary (closed New Year’s Day)

The MDC is located at 11 Ter­ri­gal Drive, Ter­ri­gal — near Rotary Park (opp Ter­ri­gal Pacific Motel)
