The Marine Dis­cov­ery Cen­tre (MDC) has gone from strength to strength to become widely acclaimed as Adelaide’s lead­ing Marine Edu­ca­tion Cen­tre and Adelaide’s most pop­u­lar school excur­sion and com­mu­nity visit site (Ade­laide Mat­ters, Feb. ’02). The Cen­tre is booked for vis­its almost 2 years in advance and has won 38 Inter­na­tional, National, State and local edu­ca­tion and envi­ron­men­tal Awards.

Our Mis­sion Statement

Our aim is to encour­age an appre­ci­a­tion and under­stand­ing of marine life with a view to pro­mot­ing con­ser­va­tion and sus­tain­able use.

A Marine Dis­cov­ery Cen­tre with mod­els, activ­i­ties aquar­i­ums, trails and exper­i­ments that are inno­v­a­tive, inter­ac­tive and exciting.

Book­ings Welcome

This Cen­tre is a very pop­u­lar School Excur­sion site and book­ings are essen­tial. Com­mu­nity mem­bers can book from 11am – 12 noon Wed – Friday.

Our Loca­tion

We can be found at Hen­ley Beach, South Aus­tralia, 15 min­utes from Adelaide’s CBD.

Our Inter­ac­tive Models
