The Port Mac­quarie Marine Dis­cov­ery Cen­tre is ded­i­cated to pro­vid­ing oppor­tu­ni­ties for young peo­ple to dis­cover and appre­ci­ate the marine envi­ron­ment, and gain a bet­ter under­stand­ing of the chal­lenges faced by man’s impact on our coasts and ocean.

Our Vision

To pro­vide an oppor­tu­nity for vis­i­tors to the Marine Dis­cov­ery Cen­tre to explore a range of activ­i­ties related to the Marine Environment.

Objec­tives

Vis­i­tors to the PMMDC will develop:

• Skills to safely engage in marine-based activities
• Knowl­edge, under­stand­ing and appre­ci­a­tion of the marine envi­ron­ment of the NSW mid-north coast and beyond
• Knowl­edge and under­stand­ing of con­ser­va­tion mat­ters and issues of sus­tain­able use of our marine resources

Legal Struc­ture

The Port Mac­quarie MDC is an annex of New­man Senior Tech­ni­cal Col­lege, which is one of the St Agnes Parish Sec­ondary Schools, Port Macquarie.

Our Loca­tion

We can be found adja­cent to the Port Mac­quarie air­port. It is just a short stroll from the Cen­tre along Bound­ary Street to the banks of the beau­ti­ful Hast­ings River.
